Look out for the Issa woman sweeping through the hedonistic world of 1960s New York and Palm Beach for Cruise 2013. A mantelpiece crammed with invitations, light streaming through her Manhattan apartment and a wardrobe filled with neat shifts, languid silk eveningwear, effortless chiffon kaftans and embellished disco dresses.
Packing for the Hamptons the Issa woman loads her suitcase with sporty, colour-blocked crepe de chine dresses in preppy red, white and indigo for high-impact, sleek daywear. Alongside a series of delicate broderie anglaise dresses cut in ultra-feminine, full skirted styles. She may even include her “paint splash” cocktail dresses in neon pink and yellow, inspired by Jackson Pollock and Keith Haring, to make a statement poolside with the weekend jet-set.
Back in New York she'll slip into a figure flattering rayon rib dress for a dinner date, the tightly woven, stretch fabric hugs curves to create a breath-taking silhouette or opt for this season’s exclusive crepe de chine shift dress with a Perspex geometric shaped trim, to ensure you’re the centre of attention at The Factory. A striking, graphic Andy Warhol print cements the host’s legacy long after the party ends; adorning jersey day dresses, relaxed chiffon daywear and our new cotton-stretch jeans which benefit from the same impeccable cut as our trademark dresses. Endless nights at Studio 54 demand an armoury of sophisticated, staple Issa silk jersey gowns, a key to each collection with flattering draping and long, effortless lines.
For Cruise 13 there are several new, daring eveningwear styles including a wide “Bardot” neckline to show off your collarbones, a seductive gown slashed from the neck to waist and plunging halter-neck shapes which would look ideal on the glitter soaked dancefloor. Or why not channel the decadence and excess of the era in a glamorously embellished full length kaftan.
Having left her mark on New York it’s time for the unstoppable Issa woman to head down south to Palm Beach bringing a trunkful of bright, whimsically printed swimwear with her. Including armfuls of bikinis alongside seductive one pieces in an array of pop-art inspired prints including a beautifully surreal, overlaid zebra design and a magnified butterfly print which is the epitome of elegance. Paired with a co-ordinating poncho or one of the richly printed chiffon kaftans she will be perfectly dressed for a hazy, lazy afternoon in the sun. As evening and a light breeze wafts down layer up with colour block, cashmere silk knitwear, the tank tops and cardigan twin-sets offering a timeless way to keep out the chill.
